If you are the owner of one of those tweaked out choppers that are frequently seen on display at bike shows and bike rallies you’re going to want to be sure that your investment in that chopper (which is undoubtedly a hearty one) is protected and then some. Best case scenario in an accident is that you somehow land clear of the bike, uninjured. Even then, that bike is going to need serious, severe attention… Who is going to pay for that?
Don’t Count On the Other Driver’s Insurance
Even though it’s the law in all 50 states untold numbers of people are driving around with no car insurance. Even if they do have car insurance there’s no telling whether or not it is adequate to handle a severe accident with someone on a customed out chopper. You will need a lawyer. Hopefully you as well have insurance, but retaining a lawyer is the smartest thing you can do if you and your chopper go down in flames. An accident lawyer is going to see to it that not only is your chopper resurrected but that you yourself will receive payment of medical bills, repair bills; and more likely than not, lost wages, pain and suffering compensation.
Never Ride Uninsured
Helmets may not be legal, and I myself don’t use one 100 percent of the time even though I should, but they could be the difference between walking away with a couple of broken bones and not walking away at all. There are worse things than death, remember. If you are in possession of your faculties following an accident with your chopper make sure that after 911 your first call goes to your insurance company and/or accident lawyer. If you are not cognizant at the accident scene call when you wake up at the hospital—have someone else make the call—just make the call.
Never assume that all parties can walk away and all will be right with world. Be prepared. Contact a Ft. Worth Car Accident Lawyer.
