There are drink cup holder mounts, helmet mounts and yes… Mobile phone mounts for motorcycles. This is not to say however, particularly if you own a Harley Davidson, that while flying down the highway anyone’s going to be able to hear you.
Where On Earth…?
In your car, most mobile phone mounts attached to the windshield with a suction cup. Not all motorcycles have windshields and even if they did I’m really not sure how secure that would be. No… motorcycle mobile phone mounts attach securely to the handlebars and your phone is held in place by either elastic straps or little arms that hook around the sides. There is another mobile phone mount for a motorcycle that also attaches to the handlebar but is similar to the holster that holds a mobile phone on your belt. There are mobile phone mounts for bikes available in fun colors but most models of any reasonable repute are simply black.
How Practical Is This Really?
Not very. I mean it’s great to have it at your fingertips in the case of an emergency but in an accident you will more likely than not be thrown from the bike and have to make your way back to it to grab your phone. Personally I would rather carry mine in my vest pocket; just a personal preference. But they are nice to have when you pull over to the side of the road or rest stop and want to make a quick call. You don’t have to fumble around in your saddle bags or multiple zippered pockets to try and find that darn phone. Just press a few buttons, lean back on the back rest and have your conversation.
Heck, you might as well enjoy a drink from your mounted drink a cup holder while you’re talking.
