Will This Be The Orioles Year?

1165467_baseballAnyone optimistically hoping that the Baltimore Orioles could come in first place this year is indeed a loyal fan. One fan that I heard from was hoping for fourth place at best.

January 21 Marked Another Orioles Fan Fest

With spring training right around the corner the Orioles kicked off the season with their usual Fan Fest; the second for Buck Showalter, their manager. Whereas the fans were seemingly as loyal as ever, the anticipation and excitement of an improved season seemed somewhat less than exuberant. Not much has been done in the off-season and that worries some fans. The O’s have acquired two new pitchers, to their credit; but will it be enough to spur the team on to a better season this year than last?

Showalter And His Team Finished 34-23 This Time Last Year

Last year’s acquisition of Mark Reynolds and J.J. Hardy may have been substantial moves but proved less than stellar. Fielding errors still seemed a problem. The young pitchers acquired by the O’s this year will hopefully lift the spirits of the team and the fans.

As mentioned earlier, the optimistic chances for the Orioles this year may well be proven or disproven by the number of Orioles tickets sold preseason.

Choosing the Right Swimwear

638065_jumpIf you are of the male persuasion, what goes into the process of choosing the right kind of men’s swimwear?

How Do You See Yourself?

Provided that when you look in the mirror you see what is actually reflected back at you and not some figment of your imagination; this should be all the information you need to pick out the right kind of swimwear for your average beach or public pool. Do not think that a tight swim suit is going to make someone that is a little overweight (or more) look good. Get some loose swim trunks and a Hawaiian shirt and knock yourself out.

Leave The Speedos To The Athletes

Unless you’re swimming in the Olympics or some other type of competition, or are perhaps a competitive diver, there’s really no need to wear a pair of Speedos at the beach. Not unless you’re built like an Adonis. In which case you should be all greased up at your male modeling job; not at the beach.

Make sure that you are comfortable in your swimwear, but be careful not to buy something that is too loose. Not only may you have to return to the water to retrieve your new swimwear, you will be giving everyone a show as you unknowingly exit the water. I hope for your sake the water isn’t cold.

Make Sure You are Properly Protected Before You Step into the Ring

i3In the ring, sports like ultimate fighting and boxing have gained in popularity over the last ten years not just because they are exciting to watch but also because they are an excellent way for average people to get in great shape and change their lives.

As popular as these sports are they also pose risks for the professionals who put their lives in danger on a regular basis and the amateurs who intend to step in the ring for the first time for a little competition.

Term Life Insurance

One of the easiest forms of insurance that anyone can get is term life insurance. This form of insurance is very affordable and costs around $30.00 per month for up to one million dollars of coverage. Some carriers charge more and some less, to find the right carrier all it takes is doing a little research online or taking with an insurance broker in your local area.

Whole Life Insurance

Another great life insurance policy to get is whole life insurance. These policies are great because, in the event of your death, your spouse or death, your beneficiary will be able to receive the death benefit without having to pay any federal income tax. Beneficiaries can also borrow tax free from the policy and they can earn dividends as well too.

How to Choose The Right Form of Life Insurance

You can never have enough life insurance; the best way to get started is to figure out how much insurance that you need by using one of the many free life insurance calculators that are available online or by factoring in your potential long term financial needs and your immediate financial needs for covering your funeral and burial expenses. Once you take out a life insurance policy make sure that you update your contact information with your provider every time you move and make sure that your beneficiary list is updated as well too because it’s very easy for anyone to forget to update their beneficiary list especially as they add more members to their family.

Sports Medicine and Eye Surgery

l8If you play a lot of sports, you may find that wearing glasses or contact lenses is awkward. It can even be dangerous if you get hit in the eye while wearing them – especially if you're using the hard contact lenses that can actually break or shatter. Soft lenses can get bunched up in the eye, and glasses can break or get pushed back against the face and injure the nose. With those issues in mind, it can make more sense to have eye surgery so that you can see well without corrective lenses.

Eye Surgery Can Help You Play Sports Better

Because playing sports is fun for a lot of people and is also good exercise, it should be encouraged. While you won't be able to play sports for a little while after you have eye surgery, you should take that time to pursue quieter hobbies and let your eyes heal properly. While some Chicago laser eye surgery is performed to correct health problems, most eye surgeries are designed to correct vision problems that are not related to other eye health issues. Your vision will be better after surgery, and that is a good thing when it comes to playing sports.

You'll Be Back Playing In No Time

After a few days or weeks (check with your doctor on the time frame), you can go back to playing sports again. That is true whether you're playing just for enjoyment or whether you play professionally. No matter how involved you are with sports, they will be easier for you when you are able to see better without the need for corrective lenses like glasses or contact lenses.

Anytime you have surgery there are risks, but they are minimal with eye surgery. It can be part of good sports medicine, and you can take a few days to relax and then get back to playing and enjoying a sport that you love.

Exercise to Help you Live Longer

w7Nobody wants to die young. But what if you’re not young anymore and still want to enjoy some reasonable longevity? After all, death doesn’t just affect you, it affects your entire family and friends. So what can we do to lessen the chances of dying before our time?

There’s Good News

Even if you’re 50 years old or more, and have been relatively inactive, you can increase your chances of living longer. Now that is good news. If that last sentence applies to you there is a way to add another few years on to your life expectancy. Not only will you hopefully live longer, but in essence, you’ll live healthier longer. Even changing from no exercise to light exercise will help your cause. If you already exercise lightly try taking it up to moderate. Be careful not to overdo it but don’t let that be an excuse for doing nothing. If you’re really worried about how much exercise you can tolerate check with your doctor and enroll in either a class that is directed or attended by medical staff or see if your personal physician will prescribe a brief period of physical therapy just to get you on your way. If your personal physician prescribes it, chances are it will be covered by insurance.

But it’s so Comfy Here on the Couch

Don’t I know it?! But the couch is your enemy, unless you’re lifting it with your back straight and your knees bent, for exercise. If that is the case, take it easy there Hercules. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. No sense having a massive coronary in the middle of your living room, if you don’t have to. With the weather the way it is right now, you’ve got the perfect opportunity to get out there and take a walk.

You don’t have to jog; you don’t even have to walk fast. Just walk. However, preparation for the inevitable is necessary, try zippy.com.au.

Must Have Items for Every Bowler

b18When it comes to bowling equipment, you can get as involved and as personal as you choose. The divide lies with the casual versus the committed bowler. The former can get what he needs at the bowling alley for a nominal rental fee, while the latter frequently purchase their own customized equipment in order to ensure its quality and uniformity of performance. Such equipment includes:

  • Bowling Shoes—Aside from the bowling ball, this is the most well-known and necessary piece of bowling equipment. It’s basic purpose? To enable the bowler to slide his feet correctly when throwing the ball. For the serious bowler, who owns his own shoes, a bowling shoe should be either left or right sliding to accommodate ‘handedness.’ Bowling shoes can be rented by casual bowlers at their local bowling alley. Rental shoes will be universal and bowlers will be able to slide with either foot, depending on their personal preference.
  • Bowling Balls—The star piece of bowling equipment, a bowling ball must be properly designed and weighted in order to optimize a bowler’s performance. It can be made of polyester, urethane, or reactive resin. It can be designed with a conventional or fingertip grip. Further customizations of style, color, and weight are available as well. This is another piece of equipment that is usually rented by casual bowlers and purchased by serious participants.
  • Clothing—Specifically designed bowling clothing is usually purchased and worn to designate personal or team aesthetic since this is not a sport with a required uniform of protective clothing. Instead you should look for clothing lightweight and durable clothing, something that you can move around in.
  • Bowling Ball Bag—Bags and slings are available for those who own and transport their bowling balls. This type of accessory, while not strictly required to pursue the sport, is extremely useful when it comes to transporting and protecting gear. It can also be highly personalized.
  • Other Accessories—Bowling gloves, towels, cleaning solutions, and other accessories abound. Whether or not you need them is really a matter of personal taste and opinion.

Questions you should ask your Doctor Before your Liposuction

belly7Talking to your doctor before your liposuction procedure is something that you should make a point of. You want to know about risks and benefits, and you need to know about things like cost and recovery time. Make a list of questions after doing some of your own research, and take those questions with you to your doctor so you can get them answered before your procedure.

Don't Take 'No' for an Answer

In other words, don't let the doctor dismiss your questions or concerns. If he/she just says 'that won't happen' or 'don't worry about that,' without actually addressing your worries, that might not be the doctor for you. Even a small risk of a problem is still a risk. Ask about the risks – even the little ones – and make sure that your doctor is treating you with respect, honesty, and openness regarding your procedure. The benefits of liposuction can be great, but you should be clear on what could go wrong and what to expect when healing is complete.

Cost Matters, Too

How much will the procedure be? Does that include everything, or are they separate bills for other services like anesthesia? What about follow-up costs? Ask about the price, and get it in writing. You want to make sure you know exactly what is covered. Since your insurance won't pay for your liposuction, you'll be footing the bill. If this is the case look into going to a doctor in a nearby city. If for example your in L.A. you could do a search for Las Vegas liposuction doctors. Don't get a nasty shock when it comes to how much things cost.

Your doctor should be willing and able to answer all of your questions. If he or she is not, that's something you need to think carefully about. Do you want to consider a different doctor, who will answer everything for you? That might be the best choice, but it's a decision that only you can make.

How to Keep Stress at a Minimum for the Small Business Owner

t59Stress is with us throughout most business days but there are things we can do that can lower stress, especially for the small business owner.

Find out the Real Problem

For instance, when you feel stress coming on, focus on what is causing the problem. Sometimes business stress comes from poor management, poor financial management or bad marketing. Answers to these problems might be joining one or two business groups or finding those in business who you respect and those you can talk to, about your concerns. Then, take away the fear from the anxiety that you’re feeling. Fear can be helpful because it’s rational; but anxiety is irrational and produces nothing good. Do what you can to understand the anxiety and then force it from your mind. Many in business have found relief from anxiety by exercising. Sometimes just going outside for a 10 minute walk can help greatly.

Keep Guilt and Forgiveness at the Forefront

Keep guilt out of your mind and learn to forgive yourself for mistakes that you make. Stay flexible and keep going. Guilt will drag you down and waste your time. Then, keep a healthy perspective on your work. No one is perfect; mistakes are made everyday. And, be responsible and accountable for what you do. Keep a positive attitude. Do the best you can in your business and if you find that your best is not good enough, then don’t ruminate or be hard on yourself. Look into other business ventures or go back to your former employment. Sometimes it takes several shots at something before hitting on the right thing.

Other ways to help lower stress are: by developing a specific and well thought out plan—a plan that will guide your business. Realistic and measurable goals can help greatly in lowering stress because you know you have a solid plan. And, always address issues as they arise and take care of them, soon. And lastly, create and maintain an open atmosphere where everyone can feel safe and not feel intimidated when they have to discuss problems.

Don't stress the small stuff at work. Make sure to have all of your office supplies fully stocked and ready to go, such as xerox 108r00608.
